Yuken furthers international growth with Spanish distribution deal

Merseyside engineering and manufacturing firm Yuken Europe has signalled its continued international ambitions by agreeing a new deal to target the Spanish market.

The Speke-based company has signed up distributor Diprax to market and sell its entire range of hydraulic systems and components to northern Spain.

Yuken’s general manager Mannie Saunders said the Japanese-owned firm is a world leader in the development of hydraulic technology.

It designs and manufactures a broad range of high quality, durable, low energy pumps and valves for use across many different sectors and applications.

He said the firm’s products play a crucial role in the manufacturing process helping to generate, control and transmit power through the use of hydraulic control.

“This is a key deal for Yuken Europe as we see great potential in Spain and have already enjoyed success there through our existing deal with Servitec in Seville, serving the southern Spanish market,” said Mr Saunders. “Diprax, which is based in San Sebastián in the Basque Country, also builds its own hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

“The firm will use our hydraulic components to ramp up activity in Northern Spain and has provided product training and support at Diprax to develop and enhance our presence in Spain. Diprax has more than 30 years of experience distributing and designing hydraulic and pneumatic systems and is also eyeing the launch of a repair service.

“We feel the central European markets are flooded with inferior, poor-quality copies of Yuken’s products and we want potential customers to realise the benefits of using our high calibre solutions,” said Mr Saunders. “Our products offer increased efficiency, reliability and longer lifespans. This helps to drive down costs, energy usage and environmental impact.”

Mr Saunders reasons that the deal in Spain is part of the firm’s wider plans to target markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He said: “Yuken works with first-tier suppliers which serve into major manufacturing sectors such as automotive and aerospace. Our products are chosen by original equipment manufacturers as they can save up to 70 per cent on energy compared to cheaper alternatives.

“Yuken has also developed a strong reputation for after sales service and customer care. This has helped us to grow a loyal client base. Our mission is to continue raising Yuken’s profile for engineering excellence across Europe for the rest of 2013 and beyond.”
