Christmas beer line-up brewing for city centre festival
A host of Christmas characters including a Nervous Turkey, Merry X-Moose, Mrs Claus and Santa’s Elf will arrive at Liverpool’s Black-E this week.
They are just some of the 29 festive ales set to be available at the Christmas beer festival, organised by Liverpool Organic Brewery.
The festival features more than 200 real ales and ciders from microbreweries around the UK and runs from Thursday December 5 to Sunday December 8.
Visitors to the Great George Street venue will also be able to experience Rudolph’s Ruin and Snowman’s Revenge and enjoy several other Christmas-inspired drinks including Plum Pudding Stout, Jingle Fells, Yule Twig and Pudding Bag.
Mark Hensby, managing director of Liverpool Organic Brewery, said: “As excitement begins to build towards Christmas, we hope the beer festival will provide an ideal start to the festive period.
“This is our first-ever Christmas beer festival and we have some wonderful seasonal tipples on offer, many with equally inventive names, to appeal to connoisseurs and novices alike.
“The festival is proving a big hit, especially with larger groups planning Christmas nights out with colleagues or friends, and we are looking forward to welcoming all of our guests to The Black-E next week.
“Tickets are selling well and, while there may be some availability on the door, we’d highly recommend buying in advance to avoid disappointment.”
