North East firm named “letting agent of the year”
KIS Lettings have been named “Letting Agent of the Year” at the national Landlord and Letting Awards.
The awards – which took place at Stoneleigh Park in Coventry and were presented by Homes Under the Hammer host Martin Roberts – recognise and reward excellence and commitment to raising standards in rented housing.
Judges praised KIS’ commitment to innovation, highlighting how the firm has become the first lettings agency to abolish deposits, its use of custom-made software to boost efficiency and its one-of-a-kind landlord insurance policy.
The firm- who manage properties in Tyne and Wear, Durham, Northumberland and Hertfordshire from branches in Sunderland, South Shields, North Shields and Welwyn Garden City was founded by Ajay Jagota.
Ajay said: “KIS Lettings was created with the ambition of being recognised as the best lettings business in the North East – and now we have an award which proves we are.
“We’re delighted to be seen as being amongst the best lettings agents in the entire country, and the award is testament to our commitment to challenging every convention and pre-conception in rented housing to deliver a first class service to our landlords and high quality, affordable housing for our tenants.
“The award rounds off a huge year for KIS, which has seen us take our first steps towards national expansion and make record profits. None of these achievements would have been possible without the efforts of our staff, and partners to deliver a world class service time and time again.”
The award capped a successful week for the Tyne and Wear-founded firm, which also saw employee Lauren Tyerman winning an award at the Springboard East Durham awards in Sunderland.
Lauren, who is an administrator at the firm’s head office in South Shields was named the region’s Apprentice of the Year.
