Sweet Success for new Costa
One week ago, Costa swung open the doors to its new branch in the Merrion Centre’s Arena Quarter Leisure Development. A record number of visitors escaped the cold and Christmas queues to treat themselves to a winter warmer, over 1,500 hot drinks were enjoyed over the last week.
The store got off to a festive flying start with the most popular drinks being the Christmas Gingerbread & Cream Latte and Hot Chocolate. Leeds locals have pocketed over 500 vouchers for free drinks since the grand opening last Wednesday and 100 free samples each day have been handed out to those lucky people in the vicinity of the new store.
The opening night saw coffee connoisseurs queuing outside as dozens of people waited to get through the doors. This is the first Costa to ever showcase a large vinyl design of artistic drawings of coffee cups, providing an attractive backdrop for customers.
Julia De San Luis, Costa store manager comments; “The opening has been incredibly successful. Our positioning is perfect, we’re catering for commuters, shoppers and concert-goers, so we’ve constantly got a steady flow of customers and our spacious store layout allows us to accommodate everyone. Our popularity has definitely exceeded our expectations and we’re hoping it continues.”
Helen Green, Associate Director of Estates for Town Centre Securities PLC comments: “Our customers have really been making the most of the new Costa Coffee. The sampling has been amazing, lots of shoppers and nearby office employees have had a taste of Costa regardless of whether they’ve entered the store or not! Our first Costa Store (on Woodhouse Lane) is the busiest of the nine Leeds Costa outlets and all the signs are that Costa in the Arena Quarter is going to be a winner too.”
Free cakes and vouchers for hot drinks are being given away for the rest of the week, so make sure you don’t miss out.
