Trio of heavyweight board appointments fuels growth for Keycare

Keycare - the UK’s largest provider of insurance for lost and stolen keys - has made three board appointments aligned with its planned strategic growth.

Chairman Mark Jackson, chief executive David Robertson and non-executive director Neil Guilder - who jointly bring decades of experience in the insurance and financial services sectors - are powerful additions to the top team of the Shipley-based second generation family business.

The trio has amassed strong reputations in managing and growing public and private organisations, including Helphire Group plc and National Friendly. Mark Jackson’s track record spans leadership, insurance and strategy, David Robertson’s achievements include powering the turnover of Helphire Group plc from £10m to £400m - and Neil Guilder has driven the growth of a raft of small and medium sized enterprises.

Launched in a portacabin 37 years ago, Keycare provides insurance policies which cover the cost of replacing keys and locks for cars, homes and businesses and is commissioned by leading distributors and household names in insurance and other sectors. The company manages over 1.5 million policies and provides a 24/7 service through a nationwide network of locksmiths.

Keycare director and shareholder, Rachel Taylor, who has led the changes, said: “These quality appointments further strengthen our board and our corporate governance, and are a key part of Keycare’s vision, strategy and succession planning. Mark, David and Neil will be instrumental in helping to take the business to the next level.”

David Robertson added: “Our priority is to continue to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction, retain and further grow our existing policy base and expand our expertise and knowledge into other sectors. The collective achievements and experience of the new board gives Keycare a strong, stable and expert base to ensure it continues to go from strength to strength.”
