Punchbowl Inn comes out tops for taste
Bowland Village Inns’ Punchbowl Inn has retained its Highest Quality Assured Mark from Taste Lancashire.
The Churchtown-based eaterie recently underwent a rigorous anonymous assessment process designed to look at the quality of its food and service.
Inspectors praised its use of local produce, which was judged by them to be of a high standard and also found that the Punchbowl was continuing to provide a very good standard of cleanliness throughout.
The award is designed to acknowledge those establishments that provide high quality dining experiences and reflect their commitment to the use of local produce.
There are two levels awarded by Taste Lancashire, with the Highest Quality Mark Assured Mark only being given to establishments which score over 80 per cent during the inspection, meaning they are consistently given either a very good or excellent score.
Commenting on the quality mark, head chef, Phil Madden said: “We constantly strive to provide our diners with the highest quality in both food and service, so it is fantastic to have received recognition for this by retaining our Highest Quality Assured Mark.
“Our staff work incredibly hard to ensure that we constantly deliver an excellent dining experience to all our guests, and we won’t rest on our laurels and will contine to further improve our service.”
The family-run Bowland Village Inns operates a number of pubs and restaurants, as well as weddings at Lancaster Golf Club and all the catering at Thurnham Hall.
