£30,000 refurbishment for Wolverhampton restaurant

A well-known Italian restaurant in Wolverhampton has undergone a £30,000 refurbishment and a change to its name.

Rosso E Nero has opened in Darlington Street after the premises – which were previously called Don Salvo – were closed for four weeks while the major internal transformation took place after receiving financial advice from Midlands-based Baldwins accountants.

The 65-seater ground floor restaurant will be run by the experienced duo of Nik Avdia alongside chef Paulo Gjeloshi.

Six members of staff are currently working at Rosso E Nero which will open from Mondays to Saturdays.

Nik said he was looking forward to building on the fine reputation the premises has as a top-quality Italian restaurant.

“Paulo and I have worked together in many Birmingham city centre, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield premises and this is a new venture for us to move to Wolverhampton,” he said.

“For over 20 years, I have worked front of house greeting customers and helping them with their menu choices while Paulo has been busy in the kitchen creating tempting dishes.

“Around £30,000 has been spent on the refurbishing the interior of the dining space and the kitchen area.

“We are really pleased with the outcome and we are looking forward to welcoming old and new customers.

“Baldwins has proved to be a great source of support with financial information as well as advice to make sure our accounts are in good order.

“This is an exciting new venture and it is an ideal time to open with Christmas just round the corner.”

Mark Craddock, a partner at Baldwins’ Stourbridge office in New Road, said the site was well known in Wolverhampton as a must-visit for top-quality Italian dishes.

He said: “Nik and Paulo have a great deal of enthusiasm and knowledge of the dining sector in the Midlands which will prove crucial in making Rosso E Nero a success.

“At Baldwins we are always keen to help new businesses get off the ground by providing advice to ensure they overcome any obstacles which can sometimes prove to be the downfall of SMEs if the right accountancy practices are not put in place.”
