First residents for Lingfield Point development

The first homeowners have moved into Lingfield Point, the redeveloped Patons and Baldwins wool factory in Darlington.

Taylor Wimpey has developed eco-friendly homes on site and has already seen a number of off-plan sales since its launch earlier this year.

The development is part of the £100 million masterplan to build housing on the site, which is already home to over 40 businesses, including the Student Loans Company and FaulknerBrowns.

Eddie Humphries, estate manager, said: “It is a real milestone for Lingfield Point to see people living on site alongside our thriving business park.

“We look forward to the day in the not so distant future when it is buzzing here all the time and not just during business hours.”

Recently Lingfield Point hosted the UK’s first ever Festival of Thrift, which attracted 27,000 visitors.

Husband and wife Gary and Sheena Richardson are now the first residents to move into the ’Millfields housing estate and were presented with gifts.
