Electrical gifts’ cables needn’t be a safety issue
Wires from new electrical equipment bought as Christmas gifts shouldn’t be left as potential hazards in the home, according to cable management specialists D-Line.
By December 25, tens of thousands of pounds will have been spent on items such as televisions, games consoles and surround sound systems, each with their own metres of cabling.
Paul Ruddick, Managing Director of D-Line, said: “We all love buying gifts for Christmas, and the mess from such things as wrapping paper is all part of the fun. However, we can do without some sorts of mess, particularly when there are young children running around having a great time, and that includes wires from new electrical items.
“While it’s not exactly part of the traditional festive fun, I would urge anybody installing new technology over Christmas to make sure they do so tidily and safely, and this can often be made easier with cable covers, cable tidy tubes or units, clips and cable ties and more, without costing the earth.”
D-Line was founded in 2006 to fill a gap in the market for aesthetically pleasing trunking to cover cables. Since then, the company has grown to offer a wide range of cable management products in more than 15 countries.
B&Q Warehouses are currently running offers on D-Line products.
