North East lettings agents are top of the league at Christmas
It’s official – KIS Lettings are top of the league.
Figures from Rightmove show more customers viewing properties managed by the firm on the UK’s largest property website than those managed by any other agency in the region – an achievement made all the sweeter by the firm’s founder’s belief that the North East is home to “some of the best property firms in the UK”.
The news comes just weeks after KIS was named Letting Agent of the Year at the national Landlord and Lettings Awards and caps a highly-successful year for the firm, which saw it take its first steps towards nationwide expansion with the opening its first branch outside of the North East.
Staff member has also Lauren Tyerman, an administrator at the firm’s head office in South Shields was also recently named North East Apprentice of the Year.
KIS Lettings manage properties for 700 landlords from branches in Sunderland, South Shields, North Shields and Welwyn Garden City, said:
Founder and Managing Director Ajay Jagota said: “They say if you’re bottom of the league at Christmas you’re sure to get relegated but I’m not sure what they say when you’re top – but one thing’s for sure, this result rounds off a fantastic year for KIS.
“We always aim to be number one, and these figures are made all the more satisfying as I have a good deal of respect for our competition –it’s fair to say the North East is home to some of the best property firms in the UK.
“A good indicator of that are recently-published figures showing UK rents rising twice as much as wages. That isn’t the case here, as in our part of the country at least there’s a real determination in the industry that the rental market will not overheat and that tenants are not taken advantage of.
“2013 has been a stellar year for KIS and the rented sector in general, with returns of as high as 9% - with mortgages remaining low and property yields likely to remain high, and the North East remains the ideal place to invest in property”.
