Crafty mum in business inspires 11 year old daughter
When Vicky Lloyd, launched her local business nearly 5 years ago, because of her own children, she didn’t realise how much of an impact it would have.
NEDay Crafts Limited promote and encourage creativity for all ages, from bespoke craft workshops to creative mentoring . So when her 11 year old daughter Ellie began to take an interest too, Vicky realised she was a natural . “Ellie would help with my own craft designs as well as be on hand to suggest new ideas.
Then at the end of last year, Ellie’s mini enterprise was revamped and named Ellie’s Angels. She attended a series of Christmas Workshops a few weeks ago with me, designing and making new crafts to sell as well as making her own craft kits – I was amazed how many people were chatting to her and were buying her craft products“
Ellie, who is in her final year at Reid Street Primary School , Darlington, is extremely down to earth about the whole thing “ I love my mums business and its because of her that I wanted to have my own mini enterprise. I love making crafts and my mum has been a massive help – I was even interviewed last year for Global Entrepreneurship Week and received so many lovely words of encouragement“
So for 2014 Ellie’s Angels, who even has her own blog on her mums website, has just launched a full range of craft kits for children. They are all designed by herself, with the inspiration and ideas of what children love to do. “Considering Ellie is only 11 years old, she seems to be very grown up about the whole thing – I am extremely proud of her and hope her mini enterprise will expand further over the next year “
