Managers complete leadership programme

Twenty three managers at a County Durham-based manufacturing company have successfully completed a management leadership programme delivered by a rapidly growing local HR consultancy.

Palram DPL, which is based in Coatham Avenue on the Aycliffe Industrial Estate, Newton Aycliffe, engaged the services of HR2day Ltd to provide a comprehensive training programme for its senior & middle managers.

Consultants from Darlington-based HR2day spent four months at Palram DPL, which produces polycarbonate and PVC sheets that are used across the world on projects such as sports stadium roofs and hygienic cladding in hospitals.

Following an in-depth analysis, HR2day identified that a bespoke programme of management development, aligned specifically to the Palram policies, processes, values and culture, which would help the management team to manage the workforce more effectively.

The programme sought to equip managers with the skills, knowledge and behaviours that would deliver this, so employees would be motivated, accountable and able to deliver the company’s global vision.

Over the four months, HR2day delivered five modules – welcome to management, managing performance, communication skills, employment law for managers and coaching skills. These modules covered areas such as how managers could deliver the Palram vision, how to deliver effective team meetings, the principles of employment law and using coaching to develop staff.

The programme was such a success that all 23 managers that underwent the training received certificates in Management Development at a graduation ceremony in December. HR2day is now looking to roll the training out to Palram’s other UK sites in Doncaster and Sheffield in the first quarter of 2014.

Based at Lingfield Way on the Yarm Road Industrial Estate, HR2day was established in 2012.The company has experienced dramatic growth in just over 12 months and as well as the UK, it now provides HR consultancy services to companies across the world, including the United States of America, Israel, Dubai, Singapore and Brazil.

The company currently employs six staff and is planning to recruit more to meet the demand for its services. HR2day’s services cover everything from drawing up employment contracts through to training and development coaching, recruitment, executive coaching and health, safety and quality training/accreditation.

“Our retained HR services, which after initial set up can be provided from only £75 a month, give companies the peace of mind of having a dedicated HR department at the fraction to the cost, freeing them up to concentrate on their core business.
