Development contract awarded by university

Liverpool Hope University is expanding the science and sport facilities at the Hope Park campus.

The University has awarded a contract worth £182,000 to Watson Batty Architects to design the two-storey extension. The present single-storey building will be demolished to make way for the new project.

The development will include a two-storey extension to an existing science building and a two-storey extension to a sports Hall and link to extended science building, with associated external works including drainage, hard and soft landscaping, and the installation of specialist catering, laboratory and sport equipment.

Construction is expected to take 20 months.

The development is expected to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
