The results of claims to employment tribunals since the introduction of fees:-
Claims are decreasing
The Ministry of Justice has now published the first band of tribunal statistics following the introduction of employment tribunal fees on 29th July 2013.
The quarter from; July to September 2013 shows that the number of claims received (combined of individual and multiple claims & counting each individual within multiple claims independantly) was slightly less than 40,000; down 17% on the same period in 2012.
Unfair dismissal and failure to inform or consult on redundancy claims have decreased by about 40% - most likely as a consequence of the introduction tribunal fees.
However, equal pay and sex discrimination claims have increased.
