Rochdale apprentice wins BMW apprentice of the year
Andrew Conroy of Williams Rochdale has won BMW’s Service Technician Apprentice of the Year award.
Andrew, aged 25, was chosen as the winner of the Apprentice of the Year award from more than 45 BMW apprentices throughout the UK.
The award, voted for by trainers at the BMW UK Academy in Reading, Berkshire, recognises the knowledge, skills, consistent hard work and development that Andrew has demonstrated throughout his four-year apprenticeship which included intense training and technical modules at the Williams Rochdale workshop and the BMW Academy.
Having attended the Academy to receive his award, Andrew said: “It’s an absolute honour to have been recognised and rewarded for my efforts. I was up against some very strong competition, so to be chosen as the winner is truly humbling.
“The past four years have been both challenging and enjoyable. I’m delighted to have won and genuinely proud to represent Williams.”
Tony Crolla, Dealership Principal at Williams Rochdale, added: “This is a fantastic achievement by Andrew. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and I have no doubt that he will continue to excel and achieve his career ambitions here at Williams.”
The award offers Andrew a second reason to celebrate because he recently secured a full-time role as a Service Technician at Williams Rochdale.
As well as being presented with his award, which is now on display in the workshop, Andrew was also rewarded with a three-day trip to BMW’s headquarters in Munich, Germany.
