Old Trafford co-working space offers flexible benefits

A new co-working initiative is set to launch in Old Trafford, to provide the ‘ultimate’ flexible working.

The Work Lounge at Bizspace’s Empress Business Centre, Chester Road, will offer a professional and stylish working environment for homeworkers, freelancers, mobile workers and start-up business owners. An open day on Thursday January 30, from midday to 6pm will allow anyone interested to drop in and find out more, as well as take advantage of exclusive opening offers.

Manchester’s branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) was one of the first groups to test out The Work Lounge and members were impressed by the facilities.

“The Work Lounge is bright and spacious, offering businesses owners the opportunity to not only work independently, but also the ability to communicate with people from other local companies. This is a huge benefit, especially for people who normally work alone,” said Simon Edmondson, the branch’s recruitment advisor.

He added: “Our members really liked the concept and all feedback was positive.”

Manager of the Empress Business Centre, Ian Walker, explained the thought process behind the Work Lounge.

“The UK is becoming renowned for its numbers of entrepreneurs and start-up businesses and we wanted to provide a space to help small and fledgling companies grow and thrive,” he said.

“The Work Lounge combines all the benefits of a professional work environment with the chance to network with other local businesses, as well as giving users ultimate flexibility over costs. At the Work Lounge you can choose to pay by the hour or pay a fixed monthly fee, and facilities such as high speed wifi and tea and coffee are all included in the price.

“Bizspace has carried out customer research and we have given a great deal of thought to what our customers may need and how best to provide it for them.”

The Work Lounge will be ideal for mobile workers or travelling salespeople to use as a base in the city. Co-working can also help overcome some of the problems which can be suffered by home workers, such as reduced social contact, loneliness, lack of self-esteem and lack of motivation.*

Based in the converted Victorian Empress Brewery, The Work Lounge is a bright, modern space which will be open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Car parking is available at the site, on a first come first served basis.
