Bristol site manager wins national quality recognition
A site manager working for Barratt in Bristol has been honoured in the national finals of the NHBC Price in the Job Awards.
Bob Burgess, currently working at ND10@TheZone in the city centre was runner up in the multi-storey category of the awards for his work at the popular development.
Mike Quinton, NHBC chief executive, said: “Site managers are pivotal to the success of any project, and rewarding them through Pride in the Job is one of the most important things we do each year. The Awards have driven up standards in new home construction right across the UK for over three decades, and the benchmark for success rises year on year as entrants battle to be the best.’’
Bob Burgess is senior project manager for the five star housebuilder and has been working in the industry for more than 45 years.
“I’m thrilled to have been a runner-up in the multi-storey category,’’ said Bob. “This award recognises the efforts of the whole team and the Barratt commitment to quality at every step of the build process.’’
Barratt Bristol managing director Richard Gregory said he was thrilled with the accolade. “We have a long tradition of producing top quality and award winning site managers but for Bob to be named as one of the best in the whole country is tremendous recognition for his efforts.’’
Richard said the awards demonstrate that Barratt’s construction teams continue to lead the industry.
The Pride in the Job awards are the most coveted in the industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body NHBC (National House-Building Council) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality developments.
More than 15,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.
