International recycling firm strikes deal to be stationed at Wilton International

Tees Valley chartered surveyors, Sanderson Weatherall, have completed a deal that will see the expansion of an international plastic recycling firm at Wilton International.

The deal now means that there is only 35,000 sq ft remaining on the 200,000 sq ft business park. The site formerly owned and occupied in its entirety by Hertel, was sold as a sale and lease back to Indepenant Investments in April 2013. The deal at the time saw Hertel subsidiary, Hertel Valve and Rotating Services commit their long term future to Wilton by taking a lease on 72,000 sq ft of the site.

GFSL, which focuses on the purchase and sale of scrap plastic, has become the latest occupier at the multi let business park situated on Wilton and owned by Independent Investments after taking the vacant 84,172 sq ft building.

Originally formed as an agricultural supplies company in 1998, GFSL now purchases a wide variety of scrap plastics from waste management and recycling companies and offers a diverse range of robust plastic recycling equipment.

The building will now become a scrap plastics reprocessing facility and comprises a large scale fabrication workshop with 1.9 acres of storage area.

Michal Massey director at GFSL commented “We are delighted to have secured the property at Wilton. Since moving in we have secured an excellent workforce from the Redcar and Cleveland area, and are very excited about the future for GFSL, starting with phase one of our project, the Mixed Rigid Plastic Process which is due to come on line in late February 2014.”

Jonathan Simpson, Partner at Sanderson Weatherall, said: “This latest letting highlights the growing interest in Wilton as one of the region’s major industrial locations with such large presences as GFSL, Sembcorp, Hertel and Sabic all occupying significant space at Wilton.”
