Advanced Computer Software Group CEO, Vin Murria is named Entrepreneur of the Year
Vin Murria, Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Computer Software Group plc (Advanced), was presented with the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award at the 10th anniversary Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards, held at the Natural History Museum in London on Wednesday 29th January.
The annual awards were hosted by Vitesse Media and Grant Thornton LLP, and organised by Growth Company Investor Magazine. The awards recognise and celebrate the key performers across the small-cap sector, who have worked tirelessly to advance the success of their business. 700 business executives and corporate financiers attended the event.
Vin was chosen by a 17 strong judging panel made up of industry experts from the UK financial investment community. She was recognised for her efforts in turning Advanced Computer Software Group into an ‘AIM star’, by carrying out a number of acquisitions at the same time as growing profits and sales. She has grown the business from zero to circa £550m market capitalisation in the last five years.
Growth Company Investor Editor Ben Jaglom says, “Vin has become a leading figure within the technology space. At Advanced Computer Software she has helped the company to become an AIM star, carrying out a number of acquisitions while leading the group to increased revenue and profit. She is a consistently successful entrepreneur who is as comfortable doing corporate deals as she is dealing with shareholders or clients.”
Vin Murria said: “It is a great honour to be named Entrepreneur of the Year and to be recognised as someone who has the ability to tackle risk successfully and make a difference. The UK is an exciting place to be an entrepreneur today.”
Advanced was also shortlisted and highly commended for Deal of the Year for its acquisition of Computer Software Holdings, which took place in March 2013. The acquisition, the largest in Advanced’s history, cost £110 million and doubled the company’s size overnight.
“All our acquisitions have the same characteristics - their own IP, high levels of recurring revenue and the opportunity to cross-sell and upsell our other Group product. This policy is very much growth driven and has been very successful.” continues Murria.
Advanced Computer Software Group plc is a leading supplier of software and IT services to both public and private sectors, which help organisations to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
