North East Bristol Street Motors managers praised for exceptional work
Four Bristol Street Motors managers from the North East have been presented with a prestigious national award.
Gateshead-based Vertu Motors PLC, which is the sixth largest motor retailer in the UK, has honoured talented managers at its annual CEO Awards dinner in Newcastle.
The aim of the awards is to highlight the success of managers in different groups throughout the company, which includes Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors, Farnell Land Rover, Vertu Volkswagen and Vertu Honda.
Based at Vertu’s Head Office in Gateshead, accountant Bev Brown took the accolade of Head Office Person of the Year, with judges citing her attitude, energy and drive as the key qualities behind her win.
As Head Office Accountant, Bev is in charge of one of the largest accounts departments in the Vertu Group, which has grown significantly in recent years.
Described as displaying patience and fortitude at all times, colleagues regard Bev as consistently obliging and ready to help colleagues of all departments and dealerships as well as carrying out her own duties to an excellent standard.
Billy Taylor picked up ‘General Manager of the Year’ award for his work in the Hyundai Peterlee dealership. Despite being open for only three years, the dealership has grown under Billy’s leadership and this was recognised with a European Customer Satisfaction Award presented by Hyundai.
‘Accountant of the Year’ award went to David Cook at North East Ford who covers Durham, Hartlepool and Morpeth, where he quickly organised the accounts with a positive and strong attitude.
Newcastle Bodyshop colleague Barry Williams was awarded, ‘Bodyshop Manager of the Year’ for the second time after taking his role to another level in the new premises at Newburn. Barry is well respected within the industry and his dedication and professionalism is something to be admired.
Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors PLC said: “One of the group’s core values is recognition and our annual management awards are a key part of this. These managers who have won are at the top of their game in the industry and we are reliant on them as we grow our business and profits.
“The award ceremony is a real celebration of great success, passion and commitment and is a real honour to be part of.”
