Newcastle hotel gets the people’s vote for a second year

TripAdvisor’s 2014 Traveller’s Choice Awards has ranked Staybridge Suites Newcastle among the top 25 hotels in the United Kingdom for the second year running.

Thousands of guest reviews put the multi-award winning hotel in 22nd place in the prestigious annual league table. Online endorsements include “Home From Home - but Special…”, “Top notch, better than some 5* hotels I’ve used.”

Since taking over the hotel three years ago, general manager Lisa Crocker and her team have improved guest satisfaction scores to over 93% and doubled the client base with occupancy and profit also increasing year-on-year.

“We aren’t your typical city centre hotel,” says Crocker.

“Staybridge Suites is part of a globally recognised brand but we have tailored our services to reflect the warm, northern hospitality our region is known for. We work hard to provide a relaxed and friendly home-from-home vibe but our guests can also expect the highest standard of service and cleanliness.

“The TripAdvisor Awards are based on real traveller experiences so this is a fantastic endorsement. As a team we continuously strive to offer outstanding hospitality in a great city.”

Staybridge Suites Newcastle has 31 full and part time staff. The building occupies a prime city centre location on Buxton Street, close to the Quayside and City Centre. Many of its suites have views of the River Tyne and Millennium Bridge.

The hotel has 128 suites and is designed to meet the needs of both extended stay guests and shorter stays. It’s ideal for travellers seeking a residential-style hotel for business, relocation or leisure travel.

Last year, it was one of only two hotels in the region to make the international online travel agency website Expedia.com’s ‘Insiders’ Select List 2013’.

The team also scooped three prestigious awards at the 2013 Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) Europe Star Awards in Dublin. Lisa Crocker won the European General Manager of the Year Award, and for the second year in a row, the team also picked up the European Hotel of the Year Award and the Torchbearer Award for overall Customer Satisfaction.

Staybridge Suites Newcastle was also recognised regionally in the 2013 Culture for Success Awards scooping the Medium category award and voted the overall winner for outstanding service excellence and team development.
