Barratt homes contributes more than £5.2 million to the West Yorkshire economy
More than £5.2 million has been given to support local projects across West Yorkshire over the past five years by Barratt Developments plc.
In Bradford, Barratt Developments have invested over £812,000 into the local area which has included offsite green space contributions, help towards bus services, local education and metro cards for occupants.
For Leeds the total comes to approx £1,976,000 and includes investments in infrastructure, primary education and green space contributions.
The funding, which is part of planning agreements with the region’s local authorities, has been put towards such things as highway improvements, public open spaces, improvements to schools and educational facilities, recreational facilities and boosting local healthcare, as well as many other projects
The contributions have come as a result of a number of new home developments across West Yorkshire including Bodington Manor at Adel, Silkwood Gate in Wakefield, Fountainhead Village in Halifax and Greenacres in Pontefract.
Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Developments’ Yorkshire West division, commented: “As well as building new homes, we want to support local communities – and we hope these contributions will go a long way towards improving the lives of people who live in the local area.”
