Local Estate Agent supports St Cuthbert’s Hospice
Local estate agent, Your Move Chris Stonock has nominated St Cuthbert’s Hospice as their Charity for 2014. The charity provides a range of care and support services to individuals, as well as to their relatives and carers, helping people to cope with life limiting illnesses. Employees of Your Move Chris Stonock, who are based at 8 offices across Tyne and Wear and County Durham, will come together to take part in a variety of fundraising events.
Commenting on the fundraising, Abbie O’Connor, Marketing Manager of Your Move Chris Stonock said, “members of staff had the opportunity to nominate a charity and then vote for the one they would most like to raise money for. We had a huge response and the winning charity was St. Cuthbert’s Hospice because of their great work within the local community. I think the majority of people, at some point in their life will know someone with a life limiting illness and it’s so important that the individual and their families receive care and support”.
Fundraising will take place throughout the year and will include a few members of staff taking part in the Great North Run, a Newcastle to Amsterdam bike challenge and a swimathon.
Jade McArdle, Community Fundraiser at St Cuthbert’s Hospice explains why local support is vital “St Cuthbert’s Hospice is thrilled that Chris Stonock staff have decided to support us in this way. As a small, local charity we rely heavily on the support of the community around us. Without people like those at Your Move, we simply could not help families to cope with the effects of life-limiting illnesses or give support when they need it most”.
