D-Line launches revolutionary new floor trim
D-Line, the UK specialist in decorative profiles designed initially for cable management, has launched a brand new patented flooring trim with an added innovative dimension.
The D-Line Flooring Trim is easier to install than traditional beading, because it removes the necessity for precision accuracy. As well as being an easier-to-fit item, by considering how awkward it can be to access under a wood or ceramic floor it future proofs the room for when products with cables, such as surround sound systems, broadband or TVs, are installed, because it opens up so that cables can be hidden inside.
As well as giving a neat edge where wooden or laminate flooring meets the wall, D-Line Flooring Trim is simple to fit by using adhesive backing for easy peel and stick installation. Two meter lengths are available in either white, to match up to skirting boards, or light oak affect that blends perfectly with popular floors.
D-Line’s market research has highlighted the fact that, even for experts, fitting beading is a hated job, because it requires precision corner-to-corner measuring and mitre cutting. The new D-Line product includes a range of clip-over accessories which simply clip over the corners to remove the need for mitring and allow a tolerance in excess of 10mm for bad cuts. In tests, fitting time was reduced by up to 50% while visually, the finished job is clean, tidy and professional.
Wood-based flooring requires a trim not only for tidiness, but also to ensure there is no gap when temperature fluctuations cause contractions and expansions of the floor.
D-Line Flooring Trim is the latest in a range of products launched by D-Line to reduce cable clutter around the home, which we complain can look messy, be awkward to clean around, create dust traps, and make a trip or safety hazard.
Paul Ruddick, inventor of D-Line, said: “The D-Line Flooring Trim removes the expert precision required to install traditional trim. It is one of those jobs even the experts tell us they hate, because if they are even a couple of millimetres out, it leaves a gap. Additionally, we have taken this existing product and given it a second hugely valuable purpose. People need to put trim round a wooden or laminate floor, so why not use it to hide cables as well?”
The D-Line Flooring Trim will be on sale through B&Q Warehouses from the end of February 2014.
