Yorkshire car dealership sales up 22% on previous year
Yorkshire family car retailer JCT600 has enjoyed its best week ever, taking orders for a record breaking 915 cars in the first week of February, up 22% from the same time the previous year.
With increased footfall and demand for both new and used cars, the group saw the highest performing dealerships making over 50 sales in just a week, with strong demand across all of its brands.
“We’ve had a great start to 2014 after seeing an encouraging recovery last year with our best ever September and it’s fantastic that the upturn in consumer confidence is building,” comments John Tordoff, chief executive of JCT600.
“There’s no doubt that as the economy continues to recover, there is a pent up consumer demand with customers who had delayed changing their car now deciding that the time is right.
“It continues to be a competitive market with people remaining keen to find a bargain and there are plenty of attractive deals available on new cars.”
Mr Tordoff continues: “It was an amazing week for sales across the group with an impressive performance by all of the team - there’s always healthy competition between our 47 dealerships with a number of them achieving double digit sales in a single day.
“Comparing sales for the same week in 2013 shows a significant increase of 22%. Even taking into account the integration of the additional former Gilder dealerships, this is an impressive rise. Overall, we are well ahead of our targets and look forward to buoyant sales throughout 2014.”
JCT600, which has its head office in Bradford, is a family business which operates 47 dealerships throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and the North East, selling 21 of the world’s most respected brands.
