DWF managing partner recognised with national leadership award
Andrew Leaitherland, the managing partner and CEO of top 20 law firm DWF, has been named Management Partner of the Year at the nationally recognised Legal Business Awards 2014.
He was commended as a result of his strategic vision and leadership skills which have helped transform DWF in less than eight years, from a £34 million turnover firm employing around 500 people based in two offices in the North West to a £200 million turnover business employing approximately 2500 people across 12 offices in the UK and Ireland.
In November 2013 the firm delivered a very strong half year performance achieving 57.5% year-on-year growth, announcing a half year turnover figure of £93.6 million up from £59.4 million last year.
The firm has also been recognised by clients as providing the best legal advice of all the top 20 law firms according to an independent survey.
Mr Leaitherland said: “This award recognises a very successful year for DWF that has seen us extend our presence across the UK and Ireland through a series of four strategic mergers, one acquisition and two large team lateral hires.
“It is fantastic recognition of the hard work of our people and the ongoing support of our clients, both of which have made this achievement possible.”
The Legal Business Awards recognise the contribution of the legal industry to the UK economy and this year’s awards ceremony was held at The Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane
