Lining up a spring clean?
A long, dark winter means that many people stay home in front of the fire and venture out only when necessary. But with the first spring flowers and the nights getting steadily lighter, spirits are lifting along with energy levels. With spring just around the corner, thoughts go to the task of spring cleaning. The following is a guide of things to consider to make your life simpler – and easier to clean!
1. Work from the top down, inside to outside – it might sound obvious but it saves you dirtying places you have just cleaned.
2. Try to do one room at a time and avoid not finishing jobs. The satisfaction gained from seeing a room finished and gleaming will motivate you to keep going.
3. Make those small repairs that you have been putting off for weeks/months – job satisfaction is a powerful motivator! If you can’t do it get someone who can but get it done!
4. Give yourself the time to do the whole job – if you leave it half way through you are likely to say “that will do” and move onto the next room.
5. Invest in good rubber gloves to protect your hands.
6. Dust before vacuuming or cleaning the floor. When you buy cleaning products, buy the best quality you can afford – it pays dividends in the end.
7. Reward yourself for a job well done!
Of course, there are many products on the market that can be very effective at helping reduce dust, mess and clutter. D-Line has a number of products that will make your life easier and really help tidy your rooms. Decorative cable cover allows you to hide cable with trunking that blends into your skirting – no need to bury wires in plaster with all the mess and expense that causes – see how it looks at here. There are also Cable Tidy Units which hide messy cables and plugs – not only making them look tidy but also keeping them away from small children and pets – check it out here.
These products also make visible cables and the dust they collect a thing of the past. They are neat and easy to clean around and will make your spring cleans of the future much easier!
