Outstanding female compliance professionals shortlisted for senior award at inaugural event in London
Six exceptional female compliance leaders from some of the World’s leading multinational companies have been shortlisted for the prestigious title of Chief Compliance Officer of the Year at the inaugural Women in Compliance Awards 2014.
Ashley Watson from Hewlett-Packard, Carine Smith Ihenacho from Statoil ASA, Laurence Perrin from General Electric (GE), Linda Szmanski from Royal Dutch Shell plc, Ann Marie Hanrahan from 3M and Sylvie Kande de Beaupuy from Technip SA will compete for the coveted title at the first-ever Women in Compliance Awards, taking place in the capital in March.
Selected from an outstanding group of nominees, the six finalists were chosen to go through to the penultimate stage of the judging process because of the exceptional contribution they make in their current compliance roles and because of their continued commitment and enthusiasm for the compliance sector.
The winner of the Chief Compliance Officer of the Year award, which is sponsored by EY, will be announced at a black-tie dinner and Awards presentation ceremony, hosted by journalist and broadcaster, Mishal Husain, on 20 March 2014 at 8 Northumberland, London WC2.
Commenting on the calibre of the six finalists, John Smart, Partner, Head of Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services at EY, said:

In addition to the six outstanding female compliance professionals shortlisted for Chief Compliance Officer of the Year at the Women in Compliance Awards, other finalists in categories ranging from Best Regulatory Law Firm of the Year to Inspirational Woman of the Year in Compliance, include representatives from Google Inc., JP Morgan Chase, McDonald’s, Orange, and L’OREAL as well as international law firms Hogan Lovells, Clifford Chance, Slaughter & May and Hill Dickinson.
And further highlighting the extraordinary diversity and strength of the industry is the regional and sector specific representation with the likes of Penrith Building Society, Sator Regulatory Consulting and Linares Abogados being shortlisted.
