Dewsbury construction firm starts new development with help from Barclays
Construction company, Michael Delaney and Sons Ltd has started a further new development in Flockton near Wakefield with funding from Barclays.
The Dewsbury based construction company has been developing sites over the last 30 years but were unable to secure funding for the new development.
They contacted their local MP Simon Reevell to see if he could support their development in any way.
Simon Reevell MP said: “It’s been a tough time for the construction industry and as Michael has been in business for so long and has a good track record I couldn’t quite understand why he couldn’t secure funding for his latest development.
“I’m delighted to say that after introducing him to Barclays he’s been able to continue with the Flockton site.”
Recent developments for the company include Healey Street, Batley and Sycamore Close, Dewsbury.
Owner Michael Delaney said: “I’m grateful that Barclays were able to provide a property development loan to assist with the funding of the new site and we’re already looking at further sites to develop when we’ve completed the five bedroom property we’re building at Flockton.”
Steve Higgins, Business Manager for Barclays Real Estate commented: “This is a great example of a well-managed residential development company, tightly controlled through the tough economic climate.
“The funding we provided will help Michael to remain true to his ethos of quality fittings throughout the development and will make their development highly coveted - helping them to differentiate their properties in a competitive market.”
