First-time buyers flock to live at stunning development

Building new homes at Plymstock Quarry is one of the most exciting redevelopments that Plymouth has seen in a long time and thanks to the Government’s Help to Buy scheme it is proving a big hit with buyers.

Persimmon Homes South West is working hard to turn a large area of the disused quarry into an inspirational site for new homes, employment, leisure and recreation together with plenty of open space that all adds up to a stunning development.

And it seems buyers agree with 13 sales taken at Saltram Meadow since Christmas with six first-time buyers all using the Help to Buy scheme.

Nina Hester, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes South West, said: “Saltram Meadow is a select development on the northern edge of Plymstock.

“With Saltram Park and the River Plym nearby it makes an idyllic setting and it is easy to see why buyers are rushing to live there. We believe this area will be greatly sought after by not only local families, but by people wishing to relocate or retire to this beautiful part of the south west.

“Plymouth is an up-and-coming city with much regeneration planned for the area. With its many areas of outstanding natural beauty, rivers and amazing heritage we believe this is going to become the place to be in the next decade.

“There really is a home to suit everyone at Saltram Meadow from first-time buyers, professional couples and investors to growing families and downsizers looking to release capital,” added Nina.

“There are ten different house styles planned here, including a stunning four-bedroom three-storey home, and we have paid careful attention to the architecture, ensuring the homes complement their surroundings.

“It is a really aspirational development and we believe that, as well as Help to Buy, schemes such as Part Exchange can also get people moving into their dream home; they could be booking their removal van in a matter of weeks.”

If you are eligible for part exchange, Persimmon Homes South West arranges at least two valuations, agrees a market price and buys your existing property. They aim to take the stress out of moving as there are no hidden marketing costs and no chains to break.

Under the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, buyers only need a 5% deposit along with a 75% mortgage. The rest is made up with a 20% equity loan, which is interest and repayment free for the first five years. Other schemes available include Home Change, which can be used in conjunction with Help to Buy, were Persimmon market your home for you and pay your estate agent fees.
