£1.2m investment in hire fleet by AV Group
A North West based site accommodation company has invested £1.2 million in upgrading its fleet of hire units.
AV Group, of Denton, Manchester, is renewing its fleet and replacing its oldest units after a strong performance in 2103.
The increase in sales in December alone represented a 15% growth in rental income on the 2012 figures.
AV Group provide on-site accommodation to construction clients including BAM UK, Wates, McLaren, Grahams, Skanska and Eric Wright Group.
Director Helen Scott said: “The uptake in business has been really encouraging and as such we have taken the decision to make a significant additional investment into our fleet.
“Our hire business is really picking up as construction firms are moving forward with developing schemes, many of which have been on hold awaiting funding or interest from occupiers and we are really seeing that pick up in the first quarter of 2014.”
In 2013 AV Group provided over 1,000 hire units for major construction schemes across the country, including the new Graphene Institute in Manchester, McLaren’s £90 million mixed-use development in Bromley and BAM’s new Co-operative HQ in Manchester One Angel Square.
The swift growth surge has also come from house builders such as Taylor Wimpey, Barratt and Jones Homes who use the firm’s steel anti-vandal cabins on development sites across the country.
AV see the surge as a clear indication that demand for the firm’s products and services has risen as confidence begins to return to the construction sector.
Family-firm AV Group was established in 1986 by John Holloway and today is run by Directors Helen Scott and sons Dan and Bill Holloway.
AV Group also operates Danzer Ltd, which manufactures the steel hire units as well as creating bespoke modular buildings for schools, colleges and companies.
The firm recently recruited 16 new staff to help with a huge surge in demand for its products, growing from 24 to 40 employees based across its sites in Nottingham and Manchester.
