North Shields accountants grow thanks to digital industries prowess
A firm of North Shields accountants is enjoying sustained organic growth driven by a burgeoning roster of digital industries clients.
Blu Sky chartered accountants have taken on more space in their Northumberland Square base and taken on a number of new staff.
The nine-strong business has recently recruited two client account managers and a marketing assistant, and is now looking to recruit to further posts as it grows.
Director David Gibson started the business eight years ago, with over 20 years experience in business analysis and project management.
He said: “We get a lot of business through recommendations, and also through helping our existing clients to grow. That gives us the opportunity to provide more services for them.
“Our clients are predominantly spread across the North East and we’re doing an awful lot of business with digital businesses.
“Our experience with R&D tax credits can really benefit those industries, likewise with securing funding. We’ve pulled in well over seven figures in the last few months - particularly working with the GrowthAccelerator initiative.”
David notes the growing number of options available for businesses seeking funding and says it is “not all doom and gloom.”
The firm have recently become registered auditors in the last year, which represents new revenue stream that David hopes to build on.
He added: “The accreditation will help us to attract and retain some bigger clients as we grow and we’ll be marketing this soon.”
Blu Sky have become the official sponsors of Digital Union, the North East membership organisation for creative digital industry.
