Cramlington marketers expand e-commerce division to cater for demand
Cramlington-based marketing consultancy MBL Solutions has expanded its e-commerce team in order to cater for increased demand.
MBL, who specialise in services to the retail sector, say demand for website and e-commerce projects from local and national outfits has been growing.
Oliver Stephens, managing director at MBL Solutions and former head of marketing at Sage, said: “Over 60% of people now use iPads or smartphones for online access, equating to a huge amount of potentially lost business if a company’s website is not optimised for mobile.”
The newly appointed team will support businesses seeking an end-to-end service from e-commerce websites including fulfilment, through to gift card and loyalty schemes along with EPOS (electronic point of sale) systems which are both important elements of the business.
Oliver added: “The needs and performance of e-commerce has changed enormously over the last three years and many existing websites are not performing effectively.
“Our new additions are all experts in the latest thinking in e-commerce, mobile and responsive websites, website user experience and site optimisation.”
Web developer Anthony Dodds and e-commerce development manager Shaun Brown both join from Zebra Internet Services.
Anthony will focus on developing e-commerce based websites, making them responsive to mobile internet. MBL Solutions has its own e-commerce engine but Anthony is also experienced in Druple, Wordpress and Magento systems.
Shaun’s remit will be to focus on consultancy and specification of e-commerce websites, responsive websites and gift and loyalty card schemes.
Mark Bishop, who has over 20 years’ digital and design experience gained while working for a number of top UK brands, joins as Creative Director from Orange Bus, and Jordan Sawyer, Digital Marketing Executive joins the team from West Digital Marketing having previously worked at Communicator Corp.
Dr Steve Winfield, operations director at MBL Solutions, added: “We are one of the largest players in the retail loyalty marketing sector and made a strategic decision last year to commit to further growth.
“The appointment of highly skilled, creative and talented people to join our experienced team will further spearhead our growth in the e-commerce sector.”
MBL have been providing website and e-commerce services to retailers for over 14 years, and have worked with companies such as Sainsbury’s, New Look, Caffe Nero, Living North and Kavli.
