Leeds Bradford Copenhagen flights to launch for Eurovision Song Contest 2014

Eurovision Song Contest which will be hosted in Copenhagen this spring, coincides with the launch of direct services from Leeds Bradford, which commence on 31st March 2014.

It has been revealed that Molly Smitten-Downes will represent the United Kingdom at the contest.

Yorkshire supporters of Eurovision can fly directly to Copenhagen with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) in only 90 minutes, the conveniently timed schedule allows for a perfect weekend city break to the Danish capital.

Tony Hallwood, Aviation Development & Marketing Director at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “Copenhagen is an exciting cosmopolitan city and is a fantastic addition to our growing list of destinations.

“Widely renowned for its excellent gastronomy, the city is home to countless delightful cafes, restaurants and patisseries, as well as the marketplace Torvehallerne and the shopping district of Stroget.

“The city, with its famous architecture, is also home to the world famous ‘Little Mermaid’ and other tourist hotspots including the Tivoli Gardens theme park and the picturesque quayside, Nyhaven.

“For the more adventurous traveller SAS’ new route from Leeds Bradford also offers excellent connections across Scandinavia to both Norway and Sweden from Copenhagen ideal for a multi centre visit either on business or pleasure.’’
