Newcastle Best Western scoops national customer care accolade
Newcastle’s Best Western Ryokan Hotel has picked up a national award for excellent customer care.
The 20-bed hotel has won the accolade of ‘Rising Star in Customer Care’ from among more than 270 Best Western hotels around the UK.
The Newcastle hotel was in a shortlist of five but took top honours at the Best Western Annual Members Conference held in Glasgow recently.
The Customer Care Award is based mostly on feedback from guests that have stayed at the hotel.
The judges are looking for the most favourable overall experience of a hotel, the bedrooms, the service, cleanliness and intent to recommend.
In addition, the judges turn to independent hotel review website TripAdvisor to see how Best Western Ryokan Hotel and its adjoining restaurant, Luigikhan’s, are rated for service and cleanliness along with the overall score.
Best Western Ryokan and Luigikhan’s Punjabi restaurant regularly feature in the top 10 hotels and restaurants in Newcastle on TripAdvisor.
A delighted Ian Nicholls, general manager of Best Western Ryokan, said: “This is the first Annual Members Conference I have attended since we joined Best Western and it was great to come away with such a prestigious award.
“The award is particularly satisfying because it is based on genuine customer feedback that Best Western collects but along with TripAdvisor.”
Jhangir Khan owner of Best Western Ryokan and Luigikhan’s explained: “This is a great coup for the management and staff of both the hotel and our unusual Indian restaurant. It’s a real boost for all the team who put so much effort into making a stay in Newcastle as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.”
Based in a Grade II listed building, dating back to 1840, the hotel was only opened four years ago and features contemporary rooms along with a stylish Indian restaurant, Luigikhan’s.
