North law firm aims to take charity trophy
A dedicated team of legal experts from TLW solicitors is aiming to trounce the opposition and raise £6,000 for a good cause.
The six from TLW solicitors, who are based in the Tyne Tunnel trading estate in North Shields, are donning hard hats and harnesses to take on the Kielder Quest for Calvert Trust Kielder.
Calvert Trust Kielder is celebrating 30 years of enabling people with disabilities, together with their family and friends, to achieve their potential through the challenge of outdoor adventure.
The challenge, taking place at Kielder Forest & Water Park, is a gruelling mix of physical and mental challenges including archery, clay shooting and high ropes.
TLW Solicitor Natalie Miller, who is one of those taking part in the event, said: “We were really keen to get involved as Calvert Trust Kielder is a great cause.
“I did the Great North Run for the charity two years ago - it is a fantastic organisation that does great work for people with disabilities.
“I and the others from TLW are all looking forward to the quest, but we’re a bit nervous about what lies ahead.
“We know there’s kayaking and archery – we’ve already had to do one challenge to develop an egg carrier where we’ve got to keep an egg in one piece across the quest. I try to keep fit generally but this will definitely be a big physical test.”
Also taking part in the Kielder Quest from TLW Solicitors are Gabbie Macdonald, Fallan Carter, Terrie Moore, Emma Lewis and Lauren McNally.
Hazel Ditchburn, Corporate and Event Fundraiser at Calvert Trust Kielder, said: “This is always a great event - highly competitive as you can imagine, but also very rewarding for all those involved. The Kielder Quest is just one of our fundraising activities but a perfect example of businesses and charity working together.
“We are thrilled that TLW Solicitors have stepped up to the challenge, it’s going to be a fantastic day. The support that we have received from John, Peter and the team is absolutely invaluable to us and the people we help here at Calvert Trust Kielder.”
TLW is a dynamic law firm led by partners John Burn and Peter McKenna that offers client-focused legal services accredited in; Professional Negligence, Commercial Litigation, Financial Mis-selling, Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury.
Laura Brown Marketing Executive at TLW Solicitors said: “We are really proud of our relationship with Calvert Trust Kielder and our team is excited and apprehensive about tackling the Kielder Quest.”
TLW will be competing against Seymour Civil Engineering, UBS Wealth Management, Northumbrian Water, Ramarketing, Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and also last year’s winners Lumsden & Carroll, part of the Esh Group, who will be returning to defend their title.
*Kielder Quest takes place on Friday 7th March 2014 at Calvert Trust Kielder.
