DWF takes Large Firm award

Top 20 law firm DWF has been named Large Law Firm of the Year at the Manchester Legal Awards 2014.

The award follows a period of rapid growth during which the firm has significantly outperformed the market and delivered strong financial results; secured major new clients; and expanded its operations in Manchester and across the UK.

DWF is one of the UK’s fastest growing law firms and during the last 12-18 months has transformed itself into a top 20 national law firm through a series of four mergers and the acquisition of Manchester firm Cobbetts.

The firm has delivered a strong half year performance achieving 57.5% year-on-year growth, including 10% organic growth. It announced a half year turnover figure of £93.6 million up from £59.4 million this time last year, exceeding its target and putting the firm on track to achieve its year end budget.

DWF was ranked first among all top 20 UK law firms for the quality of its legal advice in an independent survey of senior decision-makers at FTSE 100, 350, AIM and the UK’s 100 largest privately owned businesses.

The firm was also ranked in joint first place of all national firms for service delivery and responsiveness.

DWF beat off stiff competition from DLA Piper, Eversheds and Slater & Gordon at the awards, held in conjunction with Manchester Law Society and Manchester Evening News at the Midland Hotel.
