Employers need to become 'Disability Confident' says AdviserPlus
Saltaire based provider of HR advisory managed services, AdviserPlus, are calling upon business leaders to become Disability Confident.
Following the launch of the ‘Disability Confident’ campaign by the Prime Minister in July 2013, a series of regional employer focused events are being delivered throughout the country. These business led events, aim to promote the recruitment and retention of disabled people by dispelling the myths and misconceptions that currently prevent work place inclusion for many talented jobseekers.
Chris Clarke, Chief Executive Officer of AdviserPlus, has announced that they are proud to be sponsoring the Leeds Disability Confident conference, which is being held at The Marriott Hotel on 12th March 2014.
Speaking about the campaign, Chris said: “Promoting disability confidence across the community is a key commitment for AdviserPlus. We are eager to support equality for all, including disabled people, who are significantly disadvantaged in the labour market. This is one of many opportunities for business leaders to get valuable insights into how they can practically contribute to the disability agenda, and develop an approach that drives inclusive behaviours and actions throughout their businesses. In doing this, they absolutely can enable disabled people to access work and reach their full potential. It’s not difficult.’.
Chris Clarke will join the Minister of State for Disabled People MP, Mike Penning and Simon Weston OBE as a keynote speaker at the conference.
