Intraining provides skills boost to local economy

Businesses in the North East can now take advantage of fully funded training to boost the skills of their workforce.

Under the Skills Support for the Workforce contract Intraining, a division of NCG, is providing workplace learning for staff, aged 19 or over, to small and medium-sized companies (those employing 250 employees or less).

Working with Newcastle College and its Supply Chain partners, Intraining will be focusing on providing unitised accredited training in the following sectors across the North East Local Enterprise Partnership area (Northumberland, Tyne & Wear and Durham); Advanced Manufacturing/Manufacturing, Low Carbon Technologies, Creative Industries/Design/Digital & IT, Hospitality, Travel & Tourism, Retail, and Renewables. Additional priority sectors specifically in the Newcastle Gateshead area are; Professional Business Services, Financial Services, Health, Retail and Hospitality & Tourism.

Skills Support for the Workforce is delivered through experienced Personal Business Advisers and Trainers, who will visit your business, undertake a business analysis and work with you to understand your critical business needs and identify training/business solutions which focus on improved individual and business performance.

Neil Armstrong, a Manager at Intraining said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded this contract. As an organisation, we develop and train over 7,000 apprentices annually, giving us a wealth of knowledge and experience on which to draw.

The contract is funded by the EU’s European Social Fund and the Skills Funding Agency.
