Eastern European opportunities highlighted at Liverpool Chamber event

Liverpool Chamber of Commerce is hosting representatives from three British Overseas Chambers at their offices on Old Hall Street.

As part of the Chamber’s “Get Fit for IFB” campaign, in the lead up to the International Festival for Business in June and July, Liverpool Chamber are holding the event with the three British Chambers in Eastern Europe to highlight opportunities in the market.

The British Chambers from Poland (Patrick Ney, Director, Trade Team), Romania (Raymond Breden, Executive Chairman, and Richard Reese, CEO) and Slovakia (Quentin Crossley, Chairman, and Christopher Plant, CEO of the British Slovak Business Centre) will be presenting on the opportunities in Eastern Europe.

Eastern Europe offers a market of over 100 million consumers located just 2-3 hours away, with many countries also being members of the European Union it makes an ideal location for many first time exporters and those looking to expand their reach.

For Merseyside SMEs interested in expanding its activities in Eastern Europe, the Chamber will be providing a programme of support through ERDF. Companies interested in finding out more information on this can contact Julie Sankey (Julie.sankey@liverpoolchamber.org.uk).

The next international event is ‘Understanding Business in Turkey’ on 25th March.

Liverpool Chamber will also be running a two day event at the IFB - ‘The Power of the Chamber Global Network’. The event, which will be held on 15th - 16th July at the new Rum Warehouse in Stanley Dock, will be a high profile event for 300 delegate’s showcasing representatives from overseas chambers and trade associations from across the world’s high growth markets.
