HOW Reports 95% Success Rate on All Projects

Manchester based HOW Planning can report an impressive 95% success rate on all work carried out in the past 12 months. A review across their projects has revealed that the specialist planning and environmental consultancy secured positive outcomes on nearly all projects that received decisions during 2013.

The success rate includes over 8,500 new homes and 65,000 sq m (700,000 sq ft) of retail space at projects throughout the North of England as well as in the Midlands and the South East.

Projects included planning approval for a 2500 home urban extension in the East Midlands, 135,000 sq m of employment space at the former Wardle Airfield in Nantwich and the 49 ha mixed use Foxdenton site in Oldham. Clients include some of the UK’s leading house builders and retail operators including Taylor Wimpey, Bellway, Aldi, Waitrose and Regatta clothing.

Says Gary Halman, Partner at HOW Planning: “During the last 12 months we have achieved a fantastic success rate on applications and appeals for our clients, including some of the most challenging and complex assignments in the region. We have a great team at HOW all of whom provide commercially focussed, expert advice which is evident in these superb results”.

HOW has also been involved with some of the North West’s largest schemes which are still awaiting decisions including the 76ha Horwich Vision scheme in Bolton, which is currently with the Council, and for 1700 new homes and Land & Lakes’ 207ha Penrhos Leisure Village in Anglesey, Wales, within the AONB and supported by the Isle of Anglesey Council.

The consultancy continues to expand taking more space in its Peter Street offices and is currently advertising opportunities for new members to join the team. Says Gary: “We are always on the lookout for new talent, and opportunities currently exist for a number of positions from graduates and planners to senior/principal planners to join our winning team.”
