Northumberland letting agents expand with Newcastle merger

Residential property letting and management company GFW Letting, part of the George F. White Group, has merged with Newcastle-based letting agent Davis Keep Ltd.

The deal means the Davis Keep premises at Kenton Park Shopping Centre, just off Kenton Road in Gosforth, will under a re-brand to the GFW Letting name. GFW’s own portfolio will significantly increase.

The new office base will support GFW Letting’s plans to cover a wider geographical area across the whole of the North East, from Northumberland through to Tyne and Wear and County Durham.

As the rental sector in the North East continues to grow, merging Davis Keep with GFW Letting provides a springboard for the company’s continued expansion into the urban lettings market to meet these ever-increasing demands.

Holly Armstrong, director of GFW Letting, said: “We are delighted to announce that Davis Keep has merged with GFW Letting. GFW Letting has enjoyed an exciting period of growth since the company was founded last year and the decision to merge will help facilitate and promote the continued expansion of our company.

“Davis Keep holds the same core beliefs and operating principles as GFW Letting, and culturally and operationally share the same values with a key focus on a regulated service.

“The merger provides us with greater strength and depth, giving us the capability to serve our growing client base to the highest standard.”

Andrew Wilkinson, who founded and built the Davis Keep business with his wife Helen Wilkinson, added: “The success of Davis Keep has been built on a simple core belief, providing outstanding customer service to landlords and tenants alike and we saw GFW Letting as a company which shares our ethos.

“As regulated agents in an unregulated industry, where standards of service are often patchy at best, we are both committed to raise those standards through the principles of transparency and trust.

“I am very excited about the direction our combined businesses can be taken; with so many opportunities in a growing rental market, strengthening our combined offering and continuing to provide the best service to our clients is incredibly important as we look to the future.”
