Rising star accolade for HURST's Time Scott

Dealmaker Tim Scott is celebrating after winning the Rising Star accolade in the Manchester Society of Chartered Accountants’ annual awards.

Tim, 35, is an associate partner at Manchester-based HURST Corporate Finance.

He crowned a sparkling year by collecting the honour at the MSCA’s annual dinner at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate Hotel.

The Rising Star award is given to a talented accountant who shows the greatest promise in their career.

Over the past 12 months, Tim has led on a dozen transactions for HURST Corporate Finance, including the sale of Runcorn-based Selwyns Travel to transport group RATP Dev UK and a key acquisition for Beta Group, a manufacturing and maintenance firm based in Bacup, Lancashire.

Tim’s ongoing success means his team currently has their best-ever pipeline of transactions.

His achievements in the past year have also included securing a number of full-service clients for HURST and becoming a permanent member of the firm’s board.

Tim said: “I’m extremely proud to win this prestigious award. It’s always pleasing to receive recognition for your work, and especially so from your own profession.

“I look forward to another active year on the deals front – the market is hotting up and we are seeing an increasing number of businesses interested in transacting.”

Partner Nigel Barratt, head of HURST Corporate Finance, said: “Tim has originated and led a significant number of transactions, and his proactive and direct approach, drive and innovative deal structuring are truly impressive qualities.

“His reputation as an accomplished dealmaker is growing rapidly and he consistently receives fantastic feedback from our clients. He fully deserves this award.”
