This week’s North East appointments
Law firm Ward Hadaway has further strengthened its specialist property team with the appointment of Julia Kenny as an associate.
Julia has 15 years’ experience advising on a wide range of property issues, having previously worked both within law firms and in-house in local government.
She said: “I am delighted to be back in the North East and joining Ward Hadaway.
“Having worked in the region for a number of years, I am very familiar with the firm and with members of the property team so I know what a good reputation Ward Hadaway has and I am really looking forward to working with my new colleagues.”
Alun Baker has joined Viewpoint Construction Software (provider of 4Projects), as the managing director of EMEA.
Pior to joining the construction software outfit, Alun was EMEA managing director and senior vice president at outsourcing firm Procurian.
He said: “I’m incredibly excited to be part of the Viewpoint 4Projects team. They have done a fantastic job realizing extensive growth in a challenging economic environment, and have established a leadership position in showing how entire construction teams can use collaborative solutions to improve how projects are managed and completed.
“I look forward to working closely with the team to help to guide strategic initiatives to continue this progress.”

Three new recruits have joined North East marketing and design agency RDW Creative.
Account managers, Jenny Iveson and Viv Stocks join the firm along with media and communications manager, Tori Gill, who will be responsible for expanding its digital marketing department.
Managing director, Carol Huitson, said: “We have further strengthened our team to keep up with the demand which we are experiencing from our existing and new clients as they now have the confidence to expand after a recession.
“We have also expanded our department as clients are embracing digital marketing over traditional marketing methods.”
Spinal, stroke and neuro rehabilitation specialist Keiro has appointed the first of several specialist medical consultants.
With over six years’ experience in rehabilitation medicine Dr Sohail Salam, from Newcastle, has joined the team at The Gateway as a Consultant in rehabilitation medicine.
He has previously worked with County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, as well as previously being a consultant in trauma rehabilitation and neuro rehabilitation at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals.
Dr Salam’s role will see him oversee clients’ specialist rehabilitation and care, alongside the already established expert nursing and neuro therapy team.

Ryecroft Glenton Chartered Accountants have appointed a specialist cloud accounting team, lead by Will Tombs.
Tombs began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, before setting up his own business and built a portfolio of 70 clients using the platform of cloud accounting.
Accountant Wendy Cookson and trainee accountants Melanie Denny and Gemma Stanhope have worked with Will Tombs for a number of years, and bring their skills and experience of cloud accounting to Ryecroft Glenton.
