Fierce fringe of fashion: Hooka receives multiple nominations in world renowned L’Oréal competition

After wowing industry professionals with hair-raising creations, Hooka has secured an impressive six places in the forthcoming L’Oréal Colour Trophy North West Regional Final 2014.

The highly acclaimed Liverpool hair brand, which has salons in both Wood Street and Button Street, are in the running to be crowned the winners of the prestigious Men’s Image, Colour Trophy and Young Colourist awards.

As well as beating off stiff competition from across the nation, owner and style director of Hooka, Dion Padan and his team of fashion focused stylists, are the only entrants from the U.K to have achieved a 100% strike rate across all three-competition categories.

Dion, 35, said: “The team and I are over the moon to have every one of our entries make it through to the regionals. I don’t know of another salon to have achieved this in 2014. We are honoured to have the opportunity to showcase our talent amongst the industry’s most iconic names, and we hope that our cutting edge styles and fashion led designs will really impress the judges.”

Following a series of challenging hair recreations and colour tests throughout the competition finals - the style directors and colour technicians from both salons will compete amongst the UK’s finest hairdressers, in the hope of becoming the winners of all three categories in the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy awards.

The overall victors will pick up a once-in-a-lifetime prize package, which includes a photo shoot in London to showcase their winning look, a day training with an experienced session stylist, a fashion shoot with Elle Magazine, as well as lunch with their hairdressing idol.

L’Oréal Professionnel senior account manager, Nichola Scott-Challinor said: “Fashion, fun, music and hairdressing run through the veins of this amazing city and Hooka are the new breed of Liverpool cool. Both salons are truly going places as they have their eye firmly on the fashion ball.
