Leeds’ Morrish solicitors make the move to green
A recent office move by Leeds-based Morrish Solicitors LLP has prompted a proactive approach to introducing environmentally sound policies and equipment across the business in an attempt to boost its green credentials.
The company, which has offices in the city centre, Yeadon, Bradford and Pudsey, has introduced low energy lighting, the recycling of old hardware from the previous site, less paper usage, carbon offset equipment and purchasing carbon credits which contribute towards an environmental scheme in Africa.
Morrish Solicitors LLP renewed a contract with Arena Group Ltd to replace its printers and copiers with Toshiba models which feature low energy consumption and are carbon offset.
Partner at Morrish Solicitors LLP, Paul Scholey comments: “Every business has a responsibility to keep its carbon footprint to a minimum.
“To really walk the walk, we looked at all of our buying decisions with that in mind – it’s an approach we’re trying to adopt across the board.
“It doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to be proactive with your CSR policies.”
Adrian Fitzpatrick, managing director at Arena Group, said: “Over recent years many businesses have been negotiating the economic landscape with stretched profit margins, lean budgets and a keen focus on survival.
“Investment in the green agenda has, perhaps understandably, taken a back seat for many and its resurgence is surely a sign of recovery.”
