Care provider celebrates multiple nominations in county awards
Staff at Shropshire’s leading independent care provider are in the running for a raft of prestigious awards, it has been announced.
Individual carers at not-for-profit Coverage Care Services Limited have been recognised for their achievements across a range of categories in the 2014 Shropshire Care Awards.
Now in its eighth year, the event will take place on March 28 at the Lord Hill Hotel, in Shrewsbury, and celebrate the dedication and commitment of those working in the health and care sector.
Staff at award winning respite facility, Barleyfield House, in Shrewsbury, are celebrating the most nominations with four carers being acknowledged for their hard work and commitment to service users. Amanda Pugh is nominated for Support Worker of the Year, Tony Docherty for Employee of the Year, ancillary support, Ian Thompson for Health and Wellbeing and Maria Williamson for the Outstanding Achievement Award.
Celia Bebbington and Kathleen Thacker, both from Woodcroft, in Market Drayton, are celebrating their nominations for the Promoting Care as a Positive Career and Promoting Dignity and Respect awards respectively. Carolyn Wright, from Greenfields, in Whitchurch, is a finalist in the Infection Prevention and Control category.
Coverage Care Services chief executive, David Coull, said: “It’s wonderful to see so many of our staff being recognised for their dedication and hard work. At Coverage Care we pride ourselves on the services we provide to our residents. For the staff to be celebrated and acknowledged for their commitment at this year’s Care Awards is real affirmation of their efforts. We’ll all be keeping our fingers crossed for them on the night but, whatever the outcomes, they all deserve their nominations.”
The awards night has a 1920s theme and the guest speaker will be Paralympian and television presenter, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE.
