This week’s North East appointments
The Newcastle office of property and facilities management firm DTZ has appointment Josie Streets and Chris Dent as graduate surveyors.
Their appointments closely follow the arrival of Peter Atkinson, associate director, to the Investment team.
Josie Streets joins the Valuation team to support them on a range of instructions. With an honours degree in Estate Management from Northumbria University, Josie will also assist the Professional Advisory Services and Development Consultancy teams.
Also a graduate of Northumbria University with a Masters degree in Commercial Law, Chris joins from Storeys Edward Symmons. He will be working within the Business Space team supporting on instructions including UK Land Estates, Hanro Group, Robertson Group, City and Northern and Standard Life.
Hay & Kilner’s construction team - Jan Rzedzian, Martin Soloman & Graham Sutton
Law firm Hay & Kilner has appointed Jan Rzedzian to its specialist construction and engineering team.
Jan successfully completed his training at the Newcastle based firm gaining significant experience in construction & engineering disputes and drafting construction agreements.
In his new role, Jan will work alongside partner Martin Soloman and associate Graham Sutton in advising their impressive portfolio of local and national clients.

Ant Hall becomes a partner at Newcastle law firm Mincoffs
Newcastle law firm Mincoffs has promoted IP and IT specialist Antony Hall to Partner.
Newcastle born Antony, a graduate of Durham University, trained with Mincoffs and qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and is now the third partner to be appointed in the last year. He was promoted to the role of head of Commercial last year.
The move follows a period of sustained growth for Mincoffs, a leading commercial law firm based in Jesmond, Newcastle. The appointments takes the number of partners at the firm to eight.
Commercial law firm Watson Burton has strengthened its Corporate Finance team with the appointment of Solicitor Susan Liu.
Susan has joined the firm’s Newcastle-based team and brings with her over two years of experience in advising clients on a range of corporate matters.
This includes acquisitions and disposals, private equity investment, corporate governance issues and arrangements between shareholders. Acting for a variety of clients, ranging from owner managed businesses through to large multi-national companies, Susan has worked across a number of sectors, including healthcare, banking, energy and utilities, transport and technology.
Susan said: “I am delighted to be part of the team at Watson Burton. The firm is recognised for its national portfolio of clients and has a great reputation for facilitating deals – both in the region and further afield. I am really looking forward to playing my part in helping grow the practice and working with clients on strategically important deals.”
