Delays to Microsoft takeover of Nokia

The $7.2 billion sale of Nokia’s mobile phones business to Microsoft has been pushed back to April, Nokia say.

The Finnish mobile firm giant had anticipated the deal to be completed by the first quarter of 2014, but the process is still undergoing competition scrutiny in Asia.

The deal has already secured regulatory approvial from the European Commission and the US authorities.

A statement from Nokia said the two companies continue to be confident that the transaction will close, resulting in the sale of Nokia’s Devices & Services business to Microsoft.
