Manchester firms’ chance to learn about social media apprenticeship scheme

The Juice Academy, the UK’s first employer-led social media apprenticeship programme, is hosting an open evening on Thursday 10th April for Manchester businesses to find out more about the benefits of hiring a social media apprentice.

Businesses from all sectors will be welcomed into Tangerine PR – the driving force behind the apprenticeship – to hear from employers who’ve already taken on a social media apprentice.

There will also be the chance to meet some of the apprentices who are working for companies across the North West, including Modern English, JW Lees, Smoking Gun PR and BetFred.

Kate Vokes, marketing & HR director at Bruntwood – who employed the company’s first ever social media apprentice from The Juice Academy – had some wise words for businesses thinking about taking on an apprentice.

Kate said: “Apprenticeships like this offer an instant opportunity for a career and it’s such an exciting chance for school leavers to use their social media skills – which come naturally to them – in the workplace, benefiting both parties.

“Manchester is full of social media talent and if I could give any advice to fellow employers in the area, it would be to give them a chance. Our apprentice, Carly, has made such an impact since arriving in June and we’re looking forward to seeing how she develops further.”

Lucy Adams, The Juice Academy’s project co-ordinator, added: “We get so many enquiries about the programme and this is a brilliant opportunity for Manchester businesses who’ve been thinking about taking on an apprentice to see the benefit they can have.

“The feedback from our current employers has been overwhelmingly positive since we launched in July last year and we’re looking forward to encouraging even more businesses to get on board and take one of our apprentices.

“This is a chance to hear from fellow North West businesses first-hand about their experiences with The Juice Academy and how the programme has benefitted them. We’re incredibly proud of our apprentices and they’ll also be on hand to answer any questions.”

To reserve a place at the open evening on Thursday 10th April – from 5.00-6.30pm – please contact Lucy Adams at The Juice Academy on 0161 817 6600 or email lucy.adams@juiceacademy.co.uk
